The surgery is an approved Yellow Fever Centre and an approved International travel centre. We provide the yellow fever and other vaccines such as ACWY for Hajj. We can also provide vaccines for people not registered with the surgery. Please note that there is a charge for this service. Please inquire with the reception for further details.
If certain vaccines are not available, the practice will order these vaccines in specially. In this instance the practice would normally ask the client to pay a deposit in advance to ensure that the client returns for the vaccine.
For routine travel vaccines you may also book with the practice nurse to make an appointment and discuss your travel arrangements. You may also request for a telephone consultation with one of the nurses who will give advice whether you need a vaccine or not. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below.
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible, at least 4 weeks before you travel. Ideally 4 weeks are needed to acquire immunity. If you have recently had any immunisations, you may need to confirm with the practice nurse prior to your appointment with her. You can call and ask the practice nurse what vaccinations are needed prior to your appointment.
Routine travel vaccines such as hepatitis A, tetanus and typhoid are offered under the NHS and is available free of charge.
